Colorado Rockies Trip Types

To make it easier to figure out the best trip for you, here is some useful information about the types of trips we offer at Mile High Train.

  1. Our Basic Train Trip
Our basic train trip is two days and one night long. It begins in Denver and ends in Moab or begins in Moab and ends in Denver. This trip includes 1 day on the train (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) from Denver and Glenwood Springs. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are served on the train. When you arrive in Glenwood Springs in the early evening, you’ll walk to your hotel where you’ll spend the night. Hotels include Hotel Denver, Hotel Colorado and the Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge.

The following day, you reboard the train at 7:00 AM and arrive in Moab about Noon. You’ll have breakfast on the train.

If you start your train trip in Moab, you’ll board the train in Moab at 2:00 PM and travel from Moab to Glenwood Springs. You’ll arrive in Glenwood Springs at 7:00 PM. You’ll enjoy dinner on the train before your arrival in Glenwood Springs at 7:00 PM. You’ll spend the night at a Glenwood Springs hotel, either The Hotel Denver, the Hotel Colorado or the Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge. You won’t choose where you stay because rooms are assigned based on availability only a couple of weeks prior to departure.
  2. Round Trip Packages
We offer a round trip package. If you’re considering a round trip train journey because you’re not sure how to get back to Denver from Moab, then you’ll be happy to know that Moab has an airport, Canyonlands Field (CNY). It offers daily flights between Moab and Denver. There are two daily flights operated by United. Flights are 1 hr 15 minutes and currently cost $134.

If you want a round trip package because you love riding the train then ours includes two nights in Denver one at the beginning and one at the end of the trip, two nights in Glenwood Springs en route and three nights in Moab. With this package you’ll have two full days and two long half days in Moab. Your package includes a half day tour to Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park on Day 4.
